In a home for Alzheimer’s patients in Florida he sat, speaking to no one, looking at nothing. He responded to neither family nor friends. Then the music began, ”Amazing Grace how sweet the sound.” He lifted his head, sang every word, and then the song was over and the music stopped.
In a facility in Tennessee, a woman who recognized no one heard a song. She suddenly said, “That’s Daddy’s favorite song.” And then the song was over and the music stopped.
A precious lady sat in church and listened to the music. “I know this new music is needed for the young people, but sometimes I wish we could sing just one hymn.”
In California, at a party an old gospel song had been requested as a sing-a-long. Sitting near the piano, a women cried as it brought back precious memories from her childhood.
For these, and others, SAMM was born.

Senior Adult Music Ministry (SAMM) is a Non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for seniors through music both live and recorded. SAMM thrives on its “hands on” approach to providing entertainment for seniors and its purpose is to raise awareness of the importance of music’s therapeutic benefits in their lives. We are constantly growing and functioning in over 7 states.
